Web Changes

This is where we'll announce the most recent additions to our Web site and all the latest news from our suppliers. If you've visited us before and want to know what's changed, take a look here first.

PLEASE NOTE THAT WE WILL EMBARKING ON A BUYING/RESEARCH TRIP TO EUROPE FROM JUNE 23 THROUGH JULY 17. ALTHOUGH WE WILL CONTINUE TO ATTEMPT TO ANSWER E-MAIL IN A TIMELY FASHION, NO ORDERS WILL BE SHIPPED DURING THIS PERIOD. THANK YOU FOR YOUR UNDERSTANDING.

June 25, 2008

Here's a quick update before our departure. Amodel have sent us a revised release schedule for their new Amonster kits. The Il-22M is ready for dispatch. The Tu-126 kit (along with the Pe-8 polar variant , Er-2 ON and KS-1) will be released in the next week or so, and we will be ready to dispatch our preorders on or around July 18.

The Tu-114 and Il-20RT have been delayed, probably until September. However, the company is now bringing forward two other releases to early August:

AMONSTER 018P 1/72 Mil V-12 HELICOPTER
AMONSTER 025P 1/72 Beriev/Ilyushin A-60
laser tracking aircraft (one of the rarest and most secretive of Il-76 variants)

We are opening our preorders for the above kits. We do not yet have any firm prices (expect to pay around the $200 mark), but our regular customers can rest assured as ever that the preorder price will be the lowest on offer for the first production batches of these kits, which are reserved exclusively for export. CIS retailers only receive these kits 3 months after the original export release.

To be released at the same time:

Amodel 72177  Kh-20M

We are also bumping up information on the forthcoming 'Iraqi Fighters' book, which will be available in North America exclusively through Linden Hill. We had the chance to review its contents before printing and were astounded by the contents. The photographs, detailed profiles and historical narrative are superlative. Some of the camouflage schemes and special markings have never before been seen in print. As a result, Linden Hill will be releasing a series of decal sets to accompany the book. Releases will be available in 1/72, 1/48 and 1/32 scales. Subject matter will include a Hunter with kill markings from the 1967 Six Day War, a rare Iraqi MiG-19, a MiG-21bis in three-tone blue naval strike camouflage, MiG-23s with unit markings, a 'Saddam Fedayeen' Mirage F-1EQ, an Iraqi Super Etendard and a number of other exclusives, courtesy of Harpia Publishing. We are planning to send two new 1/32 sheets to Microscale at the same time; 'Sparki - Russian Su-27UBs' and 'Post-Soviet Air Forces - Ukrainian Flankers'.

Linden Hill, Ltd. and Harpia Publishing are delighted to announce the imminent launch of a new book series. Linden Hill, Ltd. is the exclusive distributor for Harpia Publishing in North America. The first title is due for release in August 2008. We are now accepting pre-orders.

'IRAQI FIGHTERS - 1953-2003: Camouflage & Markings' (HPA 001: $49.90)

Authors:   Brig. Gen. Ahmad SADIK & Tom COOPER

Publisher Harpia Publishing (July 2008)

Summary:
This book provides an exclusive insight into the service history of 13 fighter jet types  - from Vampires and Hunters to MiG-29s and Su-24s -
which served with Royal Iraqi Air Force (RIrAF) and Iraqi Air Force (IrAF) between 1953 and 2003.

Serious investigative research, including exclusive primary evidence gathered by the authors both inside and outside Iraq,  has generated a level of
detail and color of unmatched degree in any previous publications about any Arab air force.

The result is a detailed history not only of RIrAF and IrAF markings, serials and camouflage patterns, but also the history of every Iraqi fighter
squadron, their equipment over the time period in question, as well as unit and various special insignias.

Richly illustrated with photographs and artwork, the book provides details about a number of air-to-air and air-to-ground weapons, many put
to the ultimate test only by the Iraqi air force. A list of original names for air bases used by IrAF is also included.

* 156 pages

* 44 black & white photos

* 96 color photos

* 67 artworks

* size 20 x 28 cm

* softcover

Amonster news. These kits are supposed to be available by early June. Note the effect of the devalued US dollar on pre-order prices. March 11, 2008

As our regular customers will no doubt remember, in 2005 Linden Hill Imports was the first retailer outside Russia to carry Vector products.  In 2008 we have been prevailed on to restock the line, which you will find by clicking on this link. Pretty much the entire line still in production is now in stock. We're not the only US source for these products, but we are the cheapest.

March 6, 2008

January 23, 2008

The Scale Bureau Yak-9U is now sold out. We do not know if or when we will be receiving any more. Sorry.

Next release from Amodel (March) will be the Mil Mi-6 late version.

January 12, 2008

New from Moscow's Scale Bureau:

Yak-9U (product code SB 48001)

SB's first 1/48 scale release is the late-war Yak-9U fighter. Since September 2007 this kit has only been available in Russia.

This new limited run of the kit has been expertly cast by our partners at Heliborne. Anyone who has seen this studio's superlative Ka-50 cockpit set, will understand why Heliborne are considered among the finest casters of resin kits in the world.

SB kits are not cheap. This is due mainly to the kit labor-intensive nature of such hand-made models and the fact the Russian rouble is now a global petro-currency, while the US dollar isn't...

We will be posting some images of the parts very soon.

Click here for a recent review of the model.

The kit includes decals (produced by Begemot) for four Yak-9Us

*******

Back in stock is NeOmega's 1/72 MiG-25 cockpit set for the Condor single-seater variants.

October 31, 2007

Two major dilemmas at Linden Hill Towers this evening. We're running low on Halloween 'treats' (we got wiped out by what looked like the miniature Munsters early on), and we have no time to post all the new product we have in one go. We have some great new Yak decals and books from Ukraine.

And a PVD restock. We'll catalog what we have (including any new releases) over the weekend.

Here's our first update. We welcome an excellent new Russian kit manufacturer, RusAir. Click on the link for more information.

Yak-42D

The 300 profusely illustrated pages (575 photos) cover not only the airfields, units and aircraft deployed in the GDR, but also cover the post-WWII Luftwaffe airfields in Eastern Prussia (Koenigsberg/Kaliningrad, etc.), Pomerania, Eastern Brandenburg and Silesia (now Poland).

AEROLIT 006 'Wall Flyers - The Berlin Air Corridor and Tempelhof Airport' (US$22)

September 8, 2007

We have received a major Begemot restock. The good news is that there are new releases in 1/72, 1/48 and 1/32 scales. The bad news is that, due to Russia's current energy superpower status, the Russian ruble has appreciated tremendously against the US dollar. This has necessitated a small price increase on some of the older sheets.

Su-27 Demo Flankers in 1/72 or 1/48 scale

"43 Russian marking variations of Su-27, Su-27UB, Su-27PD, Su-27SKM, Su-27KUB, Su-27M(Su-35), Su-30, Su-30MKK, Su-30MKI, Su-30KI, Su-35UB, Su-37 and two marking variants for Venezuelan AF Su-30MK2.
Includes two large decal sheets, one standard size decal sheet and 22-page instruction booklet ."

September 1, 2007

A couple of restocks from Max Decals have arrived.

New in 1/48 scale:

August 20, 2007

HCO 48007 Kamov Ka-50 'Hokum' cockpit set ($29.50)

This highly detailed 1/48 scale resin cockpit set comes complete with canopy painting masks and highly detailed English-language instructions. We think it's fair to say that this is one of the most finely detailed resin cockpit sets you will ever see.

1/48 scale Ka-50 decals are also still available from Prodecals

August 12, 2007

Linden Hill enters the 21st Century! We are now able to offer our customers the option of paying via PayPal.

August 7, 2007

All our Amodel Pe-8 kits from the first batch are now sold, as is our entire NeOmega Saab Tunnan restock. We should have our next batch of Pe-8 kits in 2 weeks.

August 5, 2007

We're back and trying to catch up with a backlog of orders which accumulated in our absence. NeOmega has resumed production and we finally received a restock, including the new Fiat G91 'Gina' cockpit in 1/48 scale.

We also have a large restock of decals from Lift Here! including decals in 1/72 and 1/48 scales for the new Serbian AF MiG-21bis camouflage scheme.

June 21, 2007

70% of the new PVD stock is gone...

We have also received word that some of the thinner PVDs will no longer be produced, due to a scarcity (read; massive price price increase in-line with global prices) of some of the thinner hypodermic needles in Russia. We will post details of which sets are slated for retirement soon.

June 20, 2007

We finally had the chance to post up full stock information on our PVD restock. For the first time in a couple of years, we actually have every 1/48 scale PVD in stock simultaneously. As we're sure you know by now, this situation won't last long, as these rare hand-made pitot tubes disappear very quickly. We also have most 1/72 scale PVDs also back in stock.

Linden Hill Decals news: every last sheet of LHD 32001 'Guardians of the North - Arctic Su-27s' is now sold out. The item has been deleted from our inventory. We still have a few LHD 72007s left.

June 13, 2007

We finally had time to process the new Equipage items:

EQSU 72154 Il-18 (for AMONSTER kit) 1/72 29.90
EQSU 72155 Il-20/22/38 (for AMONSTER kits) 1/72 29.90
EQSU 72156 Li-2/PS-84 1/72 12.50

Expect price increases from Equipage soon. The minerals sector may be booming in Russia, but artisans such as Equipage and PVD are finding it increasingly difficult to acquire the raw materials for their products at reasonable prices. Exporting has also become increasingly difficult, with the Russian government implementing de facto export taxes via the post office.

We will post our latest PVD inventory over the weekend. Please be warned that a number of 1/72 PVD items will no longer be produced. Hypodermic needles with a diameter of less than 0.5mm are almost impossible to find in Russia at present.

Back in Stock:

African MiGs (AFRM 01: $75)

Due the painful Euro-dollar exchange rate, we have been forced to increase the retail price of this much sought-after privately published book. This is the last reprint of the book for the foreseeable future.

April 4, 2007

As ever, most of the restocked PVDs sold over the last day. We have only a few sets lefts now.

New:

Airacobras over Kuban (product code: AVRO 002: $24.99)

The new book from our good friend Valery Romanenko. This 96-page volume features many newly discovered photos of Soviet P-39K, L and M variants, along with some interesting pictures from the archives of the Niagara Aerospace Museum regarding the Lend-Lease delivery of P-39s to the USSR. Includes two pages of 4c profiles, a four-page section of 4c photos and an A3 sheet of 1/48 scale plans, taken from Soviet archives. You can find a review here:

Virtually every MiG fighter variant from the 19 to the 29 flew from this base. We were only able to secure three copies of this great book; buy now to avoid disappointment. Product code is Preschen. Price is $39.

You can find more information on this kit on our new Aviatech page.

A new line of periodicals for Linden Hill. Fliegerrevue Extra (FRX) is, to all extents and purposes, the German-language analog of International Air Power Review. As with IAPR, FRX is a quarterly journal, profusely illustrated with exclusive photographs and profiles, covering historical and modern aviation; both military and civil. What sets FRX apart is the preponderance of features on subjects close to the bailiwick of Linden Hill! Some of FRX's editorial team clearly have their roots in the old GDR and each issue contains a large proportion of articles related to the GDR, USSR, Russia and related Cold War subjects. All issues listed below are highly recommended.

EACH ISSUE OF FLIEGERREVUE IS PRICED AT US$18.50
